Adam Seger has lived in Chicago for more than 10 years. He's been involved with several restaurants - from Napa Valley to Louisville to Chicago - as an expert mixologist. Now he's come out with something unique, that's showing up in restaurants and liquor stores all across the country. It's called " Hum Botanical Spirits", affectionately known as " Hum Rum." Seger says it's inspired by the flavors of Martinique. It starts with a special rum that he mixes at a local distillery with unprocessed molasses, hibiscus, ginger root, green cardamom and kaffir lime at a local distillery. The bright red color makes it perfect for holiday cocktails. Seger likes to serve it with lime and cranberry juice -perhaps with cranberries floating in it - topped with a splash of gingerale. Hum Rum is getting five star ratings from people who rate spirits. It's now in 300 bars, hotels and restaurants in Chicago and it's being distributed all across the country. Hum Rum Founder Adam Seger: just another Chicago entrepreneur whose product has made a splash on thousands of tastebuds...and in the businessworld, too.
